BOQ Template in Excel: Bill of Quantities with VAT

The bill of quantities is the base for pricing and payment certificates in contracting projects. This template gives you a clean ready table: enter item, unit, quantity and unit price, and it calculates totals and VAT for you.

What is inside the sheet?

• Automatic numbering and ready electrical examples
• Item total from quantity x unit price
• Subtotal and an editable 15% VAT rate
• 15 ready rows, add more by copying a row

How to use it

1. Delete the examples and type your items
2. Choose the unit (m, each, point…) and quantity
3. Enter the unit price
4. Check the subtotal, VAT and grand total at the bottom

Tips for best results

• Keep item descriptions clear and matching the specification
• When adding rows copy a whole row so the formula is copied
• Change the VAT rate if regulations change

Frequently asked questions

Can I add more items?

Yes. Copy the last row before the totals, paste it below, then extend the subtotal range.

Is the VAT rate fixed?

No, the rate cell is editable.
